Nepali Grocery in Toronto: Shipped Across the GTA
Toronto and the GTA now have one of the largest Nepali communities in Canada, from North York to Mississauga to Brampton. Danphe Stores does not have a shop on the ground here, but we ship the same pantry our Vancouver customers rely on, sukuti, momo masala, basmati rice, achar and more, straight to your door.

Toronto's Nepali Community Is Bigger Than People Think
Walk through any apartment tower in North York or Scarborough and you will find Nepali families cooking dal bhat on a weeknight, the smell of jeera and garlic drifting into the hallway. Toronto and the wider GTA (Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan) hold one of the fastest-growing Nepali populations outside Nepal itself.
The problem most of these families run into is not want, it is supply. A handful of Toronto shops carry basic Indian staples, but the specific Nepali brands, real Kathmandu-made sukuti, DRUKCAN masala tins, Tokla tea from the eastern hills, are much harder to track down consistently.
That is the gap Danphe fills. We are a Nepali and Indian grocery delivery service that already ships across all 10 provinces and 3 territories, and Ontario, GTA included, is one of our busiest shipping zones outside BC.
What GTA Households Actually Order
The single most-shipped item to Ontario is rice, and by a wide margin it is Qilla Premium Basmati Rice. A 40lb bag lasts a family months, and once you are already paying for shipping it makes sense to order the bulk size rather than a small bag from a local shelf. If you are comparing brands before you commit to a bulk bag, our basmati rice buying guide breaks down grain length, aging and aroma.
Right behind rice comes sukuti. Authentic Buff Sukuti does not show up on Toronto grocery shelves the way it does in Vancouver's Nepali corridor, so a lot of our GTA orders are sukuti-heavy, stocked up for a month of sadeko and achar nights. Our sukuti guide explains the difference between buff and mutton versions if you are new to it.
Noodles round out nearly every order. WaiWai Instant Noodles travel well and cook in minutes, which matters for students and shift workers across the GTA who want a real taste of home on a busy night. See our WaiWai flavour guide for a rundown of what is actually in the box.
Shipping to Toronto and the GTA: What to Expect
Standard shipping across Canada runs $5 to $10, with free shipping once your order hits $35, which most Toronto customers clear easily on a rice-plus-sukuti-plus-spices run. Delivery typically takes 5 to 10 business days from Vancouver to Ontario, a little longer during holiday weeks like Dashain or Tihar when volumes spike.
We ship to every Ontario postal code we have tried, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan, Ajax, and beyond. There is no local Danphe storefront in Toronto (our one physical shop is in Vancouver, at 3634 East Hastings St), so every GTA order goes out by courier, boxed carefully so glass jars of pickle and tins of masala arrive intact.
If your order is time-sensitive, a birthday, a puja, a festival deadline, email [email protected] or call 236-471-5891 before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it can land in time.

Stocking a Nepali Pantry From Scratch in Ontario
New to Canada and setting up a kitchen in Toronto for the first time? Start with the basics: a bag from rice & flour, a tin of DRUKCAN Momo Masala for the dumplings you will inevitably crave, and a box of spices & masala for everyday dal and tarkari. Our momo-making guide walks through the dough, filling and folding if you have never made them from scratch.
Add a jar of DRUKCAN Mango Pickle from our pickles & achar shelf and a box of Tokla Gold Tea for the milk tea you will want every morning once the Toronto winter sets in. That short list alone covers a huge share of daily Nepali cooking, and it all fits in one shipment.
From there it is easy to fill in the rest over a few orders: lentils for dal, achar for the side dish, and whatever snack aisle catches your eye. Everything ships together, so there is no reason to place five separate small orders when one box covers a month of cooking.
Momo Night in Mississauga, Thukpa in a Scarborough Winter
A lot of what we ship to the GTA is not really about restocking a pantry, it is about a specific meal someone is craving. Momo night with roommates in Mississauga needs momo masala and a good chili achar on the side. A cold Scarborough evening calls for thukpa, the noodle soup that Nepali and Tibetan households both lean on when the temperature drops.
We hear this constantly from Ontario customers: it is not that Toronto lacks Indian groceries, it is that the specifically Nepali items, real DRUKCAN tins, actual Kathmandu-brand sukuti, are missing from the shelf. That is the exact gap a Vancouver-based Nepali grocer shipping nationwide is built to close.

Frequently asked questions
Does Danphe have a physical store in Toronto?
No. Our only physical shop is at 3634 East Hastings St in Vancouver, BC. For Toronto and the rest of the GTA, we ship your order by courier, the same catalog our Vancouver customers shop from in person.
How long does shipping from Vancouver to Toronto take?
Standard delivery to Ontario typically takes 5 to 10 business days. It can run a little longer around major Nepali festivals like Dashain and Tihar when order volumes across the country spike, so order a few extra days ahead if your date matters.
What does shipping to Toronto cost?
Standard shipping across Canada, including the GTA, runs $5 to $10 depending on the size of your order. Orders of $35 or more in the free-shipping zone qualify for free shipping; check the cart at checkout to confirm your total, since bulk items like 40lb rice bags affect the calculation.
Can I get sukuti and momo masala shipped to the GTA?
Yes. Authentic Buff Sukuti and DRUKCAN Momo Masala are two of our most-shipped items to Ontario. Both are packed to survive the multi-day trip across the country without an issue.
Do you ship to Mississauga, Brampton, Scarborough and Markham, not just downtown Toronto?
Yes, all of it. We ship across the full GTA and, more broadly, to every Canadian province and territory. If you are unsure whether we reach your specific postal code, email [email protected] or call 236-471-5891 and we will confirm before you order.
I need groceries in Toronto before a festival deadline. What should I do?
Order early. Festival weeks (see our Dashain foods guide for what to stock up on) are our highest-volume shipping periods, and a package that normally takes 5 to 10 days can run closer to the high end. If a date is firm, contact us directly before ordering so we can set expectations honestly.
