Kansha, the bronze of the Nepali kitchen. A charesh thaal is the plate a household keeps for the meals that matter: the first rice of a pasni, the bhoj at a wedding or a bratabandha, the Dashain and Tihar meal served to guests, and the food set out for the gods and the ancestors. This is a jharke thaal, turned and polished so the bronze shines like gold, with fine rings worked into the surface from the centre out. The wide, raised rim holds dal bhat, tarkari and achar without spilling over the edge. The bowl stands on a turned foot for dal or kheer, and the tall glass is ringed at the top and the base. Buy the full set of thaal, bowl and glass, or any piece on its own to complete a set you already have. It is a gift that is remembered at a wedding, a pasni or a housewarming, and many families pass their kansha down.

Love Danphe Nepali Grocery Store! Great selection of authentic Nepali products, fresh items, and friendly service. It truly feels like a little piece of Nepal. Highly recommended! 😊 Thank you so much for your lovely response! 🥰 I wanted to mention that the only reason I didn’t give the fifth star at that time was because I hadn’t tried the momo yet. But now that I have — it’s 10/10! Absolutely delicious and full of Nepali authentic flavor. The momo achar was so good too — it really made the whole experience even better! 😍 I’ll definitely be coming back to buy more. Highly recommended to everyone looking for a true taste of Nepal 🇳🇵❤️
