Jamara Mix - 100g
$2.99
The seed you sow on Ghatasthapana. Barley and maize, mixed as it is sown at home in Nepal, pressed into a bed of sand and river soil on the first day of Dashain and kept in the dark for the nine days that follow. What comes up is jamara: pale yellow shoots, kept out of the light on purpose so they never green. On Dashami the eldest of the house tucks a sprig behind your ear with the tika, and that is what you carry home to show you have been blessed. Sow it on the first day and keep it dark. Spread the seed on damp sand or soil in a shallow pot or a clay dish, cover it with a cloth, water lightly each morning, and keep it somewhere warm and away from the window. It should be a hand tall by Dashami.

Love Danphe Nepali Grocery Store! Great selection of authentic Nepali products, fresh items, and friendly service. It truly feels like a little piece of Nepal. Highly recommended! π Thank you so much for your lovely response! π₯° I wanted to mention that the only reason I didnβt give the fifth star at that time was because I hadnβt tried the momo yet. But now that I have β itβs 10/10! Absolutely delicious and full of Nepali authentic flavor. The momo achar was so good too β it really made the whole experience even better! π Iβll definitely be coming back to buy more. Highly recommended to everyone looking for a true taste of Nepal π³π΅β€οΈ
