A natural canvas tote printed with TOP OF THE WORLD curved over a blue and white mountain, three climbers roped together on the shoulder of it, a red sun behind and a rainbow running off to one side, with EVEREST NEPAL below. Long handles, cut to sit on the shoulder. The mountain is Sagarmatha, the forehead of the sky in Nepali, and Chomolungma, mother goddess of the world, to the Sherpa who live under it. It stands 8,849 metres above sea level on the border between Nepal and Tibet, and the walk in to its base camp through Lukla, Namche and Tengboche is the trek that draws people to Nepal from everywhere. The three small figures on the snow are the point of the drawing. Nobody gets up there alone. The cloth is the fibre in its own colour with no bleach, so the pale ground carries the flecks and the slight unevenness that come with a natural weave. Because the bags are cut, sewn and printed by hand, the exact placement of the print and the depth of the natural colour vary a little from one to the next. Yours will not be identical to the photograph, and that is the point. Ships worldwide from our Vancouver store with live carrier rates at checkout.
Every piece is worked individually, so colour, thickness and finish vary a little from one to the next. That variation is a feature of the craft, not a flaw.

Frequently asked questions
What does handmade in Nepal mean here?
Every piece is made by hand from natural wool by artisans in Nepal — felted, shaped and finished individually rather than cut from a roll or moulded. It is ethically sourced.
Why does mine look different from the photograph?
Because each one is worked individually, colour, thickness and finish vary from piece to piece. That variation is a feature of the craft, not a flaw — no two are identical.
How do I care for felted wool?
Spot clean with cold water and a little mild soap and air dry away from direct heat. Hand wash only if it needs more, reshaping while damp. Never tumble dry — heat and agitation shrink felted wool.
